How it all Started?
One fine day of 07th January 2023 Mr.Aniket created a WhatsApp group with 08 odd folks who didn’t know each other. Every Sunday this group gathered and played box cricket just to relieve childhood and have some leisure time. As the time passed by this group of 08 increased to 15->30->45 & currently we are a huge family of 119 cricket enthusiasts who take some time out from their busy professional & personal life.
The entire RCC family will be forever indebted to Mr.Nihar who initiated & conceptualised our flagship event ‘RIDGE PREMIER LEAGUE (RPL)’ on 17th March 2023 & it lead to the birth of our own ‘RIDGE CRICKET CLUB (RCC)’. So far we as RCC have successfully completed FIVE fantabulous seasons of RPL and each season has surpassed past seasons in terms of participation, quality & thrilling matches.
Apart from RPL we have successfully conducted 02 seasons of ‘FRIENDSHIP CUP’ in which we invite teams from other clubs and conduct tournaments to celebrate the bond of friendship amongst each other.
‘WOMEN RIDGE PREMIER LEAGUE’ (WRPL) is something on which RCC will be super proud of!! Considering the women empowerment and equality one of our core team members Mr. Ashish Ranjan came up with this concept wherein a league was organised within the women cricketers from or around RCC to celebrate WOMANHOOD!! We have successfully organised one season till now and are planning for many more as well.
The latest addition under the umbrella of RCC is the ‘T20 SERIES’ which we concluded recently a few days back. In this format we have tried playing in open ground by getting out of the comfort zone of box cricket and to relieve the more serious nature of the game. This too is the brainchild of Mr.Ashish Ranjan.
We at RCC always believe that if PASSION is there nothing is IMPOSSIBLE!! And with the support of fellow RCCians we are trying our level best to improvise & upscale RCC as a club.
